Whether it is a new mechanical seal or a repaired seal, the following items must be carefully checked before installation: all parts must be inspected, the parts must be clean and free of dirt, especially the sealing surface of the static and dynamic rings; check the sealed rotating parts, drive Pins and spring pins are free to move; check the positioning screws of the rotating parts, the positioning screws should be loose and free, the old ones should be replaced; carefully check the thickness of all auxiliary sealing rings according to the sealing installation diagram, the thickness is not suitable will affect the correct positioning of the seal And the spring load applied to the sealing surface; check that all rotating parts are properly fitted with the shaft or bushing; check the static and dynamic ring sealing surface without any nicks or scratches, any slight damage may cause the sealing surface to leak .
Proper operation and use are also critical to the life of the mechanical seal. In general, the following cautions apply to the proper use of most mechanical seals.
1. Most mechanical seals are designed to work in a liquid environment. Therefore, the sealing surface must be immersed in the liquid before driving. Dry running will seriously damage the sealing surface and affect the use and life of the seal. Of course, the jog device confirms that the motor steering does not break the seal, but the mechanical seal of the full-speed device must work in the liquid.
2. The piping system connected to the equipment must also be cleaned. If the debris of the system is not cleaned up in time, after long-term operation, the debris may enter the seal, thus affecting the life of the seal. Most of the premature failure of new equipment seals is due to this reason. Therefore, it is necessary to install a filter at the inlet before the new equipment is driven.
3. Turn on the cooling or rinsing system. It is best not to turn off the cooling or rinsing system, no matter whether the equipment is running or not, especially if the equipment is heated or the medium may crystallize after cooling.
